When West Meets East by Allen Fu + Olea & Fig Studio
Art speaks the soul of its culture.
— Abby Willowroot

When culture and beauty come together so masterfully we find our emotions evoked with every beautiful image. Classic Chinese design elements combine harmoniously with traditional Western beauty for a project full of passion and emotion. Olea & Fig Studio found inspiration in Chinese tradition and created what can only be described as a masterpiece that was so perfectly captured by Allen Fu

From designer Annie of Olea & Fig Studio: "During our last trip to Taiwan, it was the intricate details and opulence of the temples we visited that inspired this shoot. And given that the styled shoot took place a month prior to Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), we also incorporated the spirit of Lunar New Year. The focus of this styled shoot was to showcase a fusion of the West and the East, a marriage between femininity and masculinity, implying the evolvement of female-specific identities in the modern society.

The color palette was composed of the rich, passionate color red which embodies the festive new year, black to emphasize authority and elegance, gold for grandeur and prosperity, along with a touch of lavender to fuse the modern and the traditional, the Eastern and Western culture."
