Utah Sand Dunes Wedding Inspiration by Callie Manion Photography

Don’t ask her to be a rock for you to lean upon.
Instead, build her wings,
and point her to the sky,
and she will teach you both how to fly.
— Atticus

To be free is to follow your heart to the place where your soul feels at peace. A place where all of life's journeys and adventures become pieces of the destined puzzle. A place where the trials and tribulations become but mere stepping stones. Where love becomes your haven of peace and you simply want to remain forever. Inspired by the vast freedom of the desert, Callie Manion and her team have inspired us today to new depths.

From photographer Callie Manion: "This shoot was designed and photographed in the sand dunes of Little Sahara right outside of Salt Lake City. Our designer, Ambra Costner-Portillo of Query Events, used a neutral palette with colorful floral arrangements meant to mimic the sunset – butter yellows, soft oranges, blush and red. The soft hues were a stunning contrast to the austere desert setting.

Ambra kept all of the textures and elements of this shoot as cohesive with the existing landscape as possible so that everything looked at home together. We knew we wanted a minimalist dress to really showcase our gorgeous model who is a true desert girl as a native to Salt Lake City. Said Ambra about the stunning model and her dress: “We paired our dark haired model with the Bainbridge Alexandra Grecco gown with tons of movement and a slit for days.” The resulting photos have such a sense of motion that you can almost feel the desert wind!"

I am a dreamer, beauty seeker + big believer in love. I find inspiration from my surroundings, beautifully written verse, and the people I photograph. I’ll occasionally tell my clients that I fall a little bit in love with everyone I photograph and it’s true! I seek out your most beautiful + vulnerable aspects in order to capture your true beauty in an art form!
