Sarah Collier of Taken by Sarah sets out every year to inspire and educate film photographers with her The Film Photographers Workshop. This workshop truly sets itself apart as Sarah's passion for teaching takes center stage. This workshop is not only full of incredible learning opportunities but as today proves, it's also full of gorgeous inspiration! The Film Photographers are hosting their next workshop from October 23-26 in sunny California and we are thrilled to be exclusively featuring the work of one of their talented attendees.
From photographer and workshop host Sarah Collier: "This workshop is unlike others in the industry. Our teachers have many decades of experience shooting film professionally and are passionate about teaching proper techniques and principles of film photography. We're excited to carry this workshop on and are having our second one this fall. The editorial shoots were used as a way to practice what we taught rather than being the focus of the workshop. I wanted them to be impeccably styled with an emphasis on the floral design. The venue we held the workshop at provided us with difficult and dark lighting situations which was exactly what we were teaching our attendees to shoot in since they face those situations constantly in their real jobs. The Stone House at Temecula Creek Inn provided the perfect backdrop for this with the beautiful textures and wonderfully unusual light pouring through skylights and windows. The story behind this shoot is that our model is welcoming her friends to a small dinner that she herself has prepared. The colors and textures of the table decor were carefully chosen to match the surroundings and our goal was to create an eye catching look that inspires those looking for something that is far from typical."
