Christmas may be over but we are still in the heart of winter here in the Great White North and are warming up today with this romantic session captured by Lance Nicoll Photography, and designed by the lovely Krystle of Everly Event Planning and Design. We love that this session was created post wedding for this real life couple and that they played on a classic winter palette to truly bring the season to life!
From the Event Designer, Krystle: When I was told the story of Kati and Ben and was then asked to jump on board for their styled post-wedding shoot, I couldn't get the "ABSOLUTELY!" out fast enough. Kati and Ben are every event planner/designer's dream: beautiful inside and out, obviously in love and have great style. We wanted the shoot to be an extension of their wedding day and a true portrayal of their collective style as a couple. Clean whites, lush greens and deep reds with a few softer shades of blush, a touch of dark purple floral, berry accents and splashes of gold truly brought life and color to this shoot. One of my favorite decor accents from the day was the garland table runner on top of the beautiful distressed farm table! We designed their stationary to reflect the classic color scheme in a stylish calligraphy type. Instead of the typical white or dark chocolate naked cake, we opted for a red velvet naked cake to make it more cohesive. We also had fun with their cocktail selection- a warm sangria topped with whipped cream and cinnamon sticks. What would a romantic winter shoot be without a cozy cocktail? I also loved that Kati got to take some pictures in the fur that it was too warm to wear on her actual wedding day! Despite the less than ideal weather, I believe that the shoot was absolutely swoon-worthy for an amazing couple.
