Esther Funk Photography recently took a trip out West and created this magic! We love featuring local talent, and this group of talented Alberta vendors is no exception. We love the way this editorial captures the romance of an intimate elopement and perfectly accentuates the beauty around them. Full of the sweetest details, we are absolutely swooning!
From Kay of Social + Co Weddings and Events: After James' late summer proposal to Audrey, she could only think of one thing; how she didn't want to wait another minute to marry him. The intimacy of a late summer elopement encompassed everything that they had ever been as a couple. They would be the first to leave dinner parties and more often than not, opt for an intimate and familiar night at home; just the two of them. And that is how she wanted to say (and hear) two of the most important words they would ever say to each other; just the two of them.
I fell in love with the steps of Bankhead's abandoned church first in photos, and then all over again when we arrived at our shoot. Everything I choose from our colour palette to the dress seemed to centre around the steps. I wanted to create the perfect ode to summer as the colours, smells and air had begun to change. With blue hues, neutrals, deep yellows and golds I feel this is the most perfect and intimate setting for a late summer elopement.
